The Maine celebrate 16 years with fans at Sold Out show in Seattle, WA

Alternative rock band, The Maine are bringing their fans on trip down memory lane on their current headlining tour that is hitting cities across North America then going abroad in 2024. The five-piece group of childhood friends are still going strong after 16 years of being a band. Similarly to Taylor Swift’s Era’s tour The Maine’s setlist consists of songs from each of their studio albums and with a concept like that it’s not shocking many shows on the tour sold out in advance.

The Sweet Sixteen Tour stopped in Seattle, WA earlier this year in November for a sold out show at Seattle’s historic venue The Showbox. Fans eagerly packed into the venue early to catch performances from talented openers Weathers and Flor. The music filled night started with Weather’s impressive high energy filled performance that had the crowd captivated and happily singing & dancing along to their rock songs like “Happy Pills” and “C'est la vie”. Indie Pop- Rock group Flor took the stage shortly after which had many fans loudly singing along to their fun and flawlessly performed songs “dancing around” and “hold on”.

The anticipation was high by the time The Maine took the stage to perform one of their most extensive setlists of their touring career to date. The well thought out setlist include 26 songs from the bands accomplished discography which featured at least one song from each of their 9 releases since the band formed in 2007. Crowd favorites American Candy and Lovely Little Lonely as well their latest studio release The Maine (self titled) each got 4 song slots on the setlist. One thing this band has always has been good at is interacting with their fans through out the set. You never really know what to expect with these guys but they always seem to be joking around with their fans through out the years. On this tour vocalist John O’Callaghan has been hoping down into the crowd for an intimate performance of their song Sticky encouraging everyone to jump around him which just goes to show you just how much this band trusts their fanbase. As the band worked through their discography flawlessly, fans danced and sang along to every song - one super fan was even lucky enough to be brought on stage during “Girls Do What They Want,” a song off of their debut album Can't Stop Won't Stop.

It’s been incredible getting to watch The Maine growth over the past 16 years, remarkably without ever changing the line-up of members in the band. This tour is as sweet as American candy and I hope anyone who has ever been a fan of this band is able to experience it. We can’t wait to see what is in store for the band in 2024 and are excited to catch The Maine opening for Fall Out Boy at Climate Pledge Arena in the spring of 2024!
