Armor For Sleep Celebrate 20 Years of Dream To Make Believe

December 11, 2023 | El Corazon | Seattle, WA

Armor For Sleep ended their nearly 2 month long tour at Seattle’s iconic El Corazón, performing their 2003 album Dream to Make Believe in full. Joined by support acts The Early November (also performing a full album, 2003’s The Room’s Too Cold) and The Spill Canvas, the show was full of nostalgic mid-2000s emo that kept the crowd singing along throughout the entire show.

Despite taking extensive breaks over their more than 20-year career, the band sounded as good as ever. While playing Dream to Make Believe nearly from start to finish, the band took a break to play some fan favorites “The Truth About Heaven” and “Awkward Last Words” which was met with great reception from the audience.

Immediately following Dream to Make Believe, the band went straight into “Remember to Feel Real” from acclaimed concept album What to Do When You Are Dead before following up with four more songs from the record. Armor For Sleep ended their set and tour with their breakout 2005 single “Car Underwater,” which had vocalist/guitarist Ben Jorgensen asking the crowd to help him sing the intro. The end of the set was filled with crowd members singing and crowd surfing, and felt like a fitting end to a tour celebrating this influential band and album.

While this was the last show of Armor For Sleep’s current tour, you can catch the band next year performing on the Emo’s Not Dead cruise, as well as at When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas in October. Tour dates and tickets can be found on the band’s website.
