The Peace And The Panic by Neck Deep

The highly anticipated album by Neck Deep is almost here, but here's what I thought of each song, track-by-track style.

01. Motion Sickness

This is a song that features the pop punk sound that Neck Deep are known for and will definitely have you head banging throughout. Not the mention the message about not giving up though your world may be spinning. It’s a great way to open the album.

02. Happy Judgement Day

This was one of the two songs that were first released back in May right before the band jumped on Warped Tour. The song itself is one the best songs, in my opinion, that Neck Deep have ever released. The band does a great job at sticking with the up beat tempo while singing about how shit the world is. It’s definitely one that will get the crowds pumped and singing along.

03. The Grand Delusion

This is a personal favorite. This is one of those songs that you really have to listen to before you’ll understand why it’s so relatable. It’s one that I highly recommend. Definitely check this one out.

04. Parachute

Would this be a pop punk album without a song about leaving town and falling in love? If you’re a hopeless romantic that dreams of running away with your significant other and finding something new while falling in love then here’s the song for you. You’ll be singing this at the top of your lungs guaranteed.

05. In Bloom

I’m a sucker for a good song about love and finding yourself and Neck Deep deliver just that on In Bloom. Not to mention the guitars that blend perfectly with the drum and bass while still complimenting the vocals. I can definitely see this being a favorite.

06. Don’t Wait (ft. Sam Carter)

This is my favorite song off this album and it’s the one that I think personified the album perfectly. It holds a very powerful political statement and inspires kids to open their eyes to the lies of the government. I can already hear the crowd going crazy over this song and singing it at the top of their lungs. It also features Architects’’ Sam Carter who gives the song and extra edge. This is a must hear.

07. Critical Mistake

The first 30 seconds of this song really give you a good idea of what this songs about, but in case you miss it, the main theme is about a relationship that isn’t working out due to their differences. I guess opposites don’t always attract, right? If you’re into the more pop side of pop punk then this is the song for you.

08. Wish You Were Here

Cue the tears. This beautiful acoustic ballad is about the heartbreak you feel after someone you love passes away. All I have to say is you better have the tissues ready.

09. Heavy Lies

You always want to see people’s true colors, especially when you’re in a relationship with them. In this song Ben tells his lover to tell him the truth and take of their disguise. This is definitely one of the more calmer, both musically and lyrically, songs on the album but I think it’s a good one to listen to when you’re in the mood to sing about love.

10. 19 Seventy Sumthin’

Another one of my favorites. This follows the story of young lovers who met back in 19 seventy sumthin’ when love was just simpler. The song takes you through their life as they create their family and live life. I won’t spoil the end for you, but it’s one you should check out and one that I highly suggest.

11. Where Do We Go When We Go

This is definitely a crowd favorite - I remember seeing everyone sing this at the top of their lungs with so much passion. It’s about the pain you’ll experience in life but how you’ll get through it – life’s not out to get you, remember?

This is one of Neck Deep's best albums as well as one of the best that I've heard this year. Neck Deep really deliver and I'm really excited for what comes next for the band.
