Underoath's "Voyeurist" North American Tour stopped in rainy Seattle, WA at Showbox SODO on February 28th 2022. Underoath brought along Stray From The Path, Bad Omens, and Spiritbox who put on amazing performances that warmed up and prepared the crowd for Underoath’s set of both nostalgic songs from their extensive catalog, and a new energy, brought to you by their latest studio album Voyeurist.

Starting the night out was seasoned veterans Stray From The Path, the aggression and angsty grooves of this band were perfect for making Seattle forget about the weather. Second up, was the moody and crushing Bad Omens. Blending in multiple different sounds and styles to draw the crowd even closer. The last of the openers to perform was the one with one of the most unique sounds in the familiar genre: Spiritbox. The Victoria Island BC based band played flawlessly . The band had noted feeling empowered by being so close to their home. Courtney LaPlante (vocalist) and Mike Stringer (guitarist) who are married, even had their parents out for the show which made me feel included in a once in a lifetime performance.

Lastly, the all mighty Underoath took to the stage, with a haunting intro that included meditation and breathing practices, only to be brought back into reality with a shocking excitement. As I crashed back into reality, the Florida based band opened up with "Damn Excuses" which is the opening song on their 9th studio record! They kept the energy up with a perfect blend of classic songs from throughout the band's career, like "Breathing In a New Mentality" and "In Regards to Myself", and introduced the new and immediately catchy tracks, like "Hallelujah" and "Pneumonia" and performed 15 songs in total. The band decided to bless the crowd with an encore, as they started playing "Writing On The Walls", it left Seattle on the highest nostalgic highs, and yet it was like hearing the song for the first time.
