Las Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons are currently touring across North America performing brand new music off their 5th studio album, Mercury - Act 1, on the first leg of the worldwide Mercury Tour. Opening for the band’s north american leg of the tour is Danish singer and songwriter MØ.

The tour recently just finished up two major shows in Seattle, WA on Saturday and Monday at the brand new Climate Pledge Arena that first opened less than a year ago in October of 2021 and seats up to 17,200 people.

We caught the band at their Saturday show and witnessed an incredible performance that lasted 2 hours long and included 23 songs. The Saturday show also doubled as vocalist Dan Reynolds’ anniversary with his wife who was in attendance.

After half a decade of not touring the band went all out on production for this tour. The band opened with “My Life” , a song off the new album, and had a cinematic prologue that was shown on a gigantic LED screen as they walked on stage. The band had cinematic segments dotted throughout the entire show that made the set feel more like a story than just a typical concert.

It’s amazing to see how much fame the band has gained since their days of performing at Seattle’s The Crocodile, a small club venue that can hold around 500 people. The band played many fan favorites including, It’s Time, Radioactive, and Demons all of which achieved massive radio success, including top 40 status, skyrocketing their track to fame.

Taking a pause from the electric guitars the band decided to strip down the set and perform a few songs including another fan favorite, “I Bet My Life.”  Continuing on to perform a beautiful cover of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” vocalist Dan Reynolds took a moment to talk about his love for Seattle and our music culture, mentioning how he grew up listening to Seattle artists such as Bob Marley and Nirvana and even had posters of the musicians on his walls. Reynolds considers Seattle one of his favorite cities in the world, persistent on the fact that he doesn't say this at every show they perform.

The band members are huge advocates of Civil Rights, LGBTQ rights, and Mental Health. With how many kids were in attendance that night, it’s inspiring to see a band be so passionate about such topics speaking about these not only in concert but through their songs. Dan proceeded to seek out kids in the crowd to give high fives and dedicated the song “Its ok” to kids letting them know that their life is worth living. Not only that but Dan also dedicated a new song, “Wrecked” to his sister in law who, sadly, passed away from cancer not long ago.

You can catch the band on the rest of their world tour as they take on the rest of the United States, Canada and Europe through the middle of July.  Check out their website to see if the Mercury Tour is coming to a city near you.
