Silverstein and The Amity Affliction come to Seattle, WA

August 31, 2022 - The Showbox, Seattle, WA

Silverstein’s co-headlining tour with The Amity Affliction came to the Showbox on August 31st, 3 years after their last Seattle performance, promoting their new album Misery Made Me. Holding Absence and UnityTX opened the show with great performances, preparing the crowd for the headliners.

Dallas-based hardcore/hip-hop band UnityTX opened the show to good reception from the audience, playing a short set which included their upcoming release “World of Malice.”
Returning to the US after a spring tour earlier this year with Dayseeker, Holding Absence performed to many devoted fans at the front of the crowd, starting with their new single “Aching Longing" from their split EP with Alpha Wolf.

The first of the co-headlining bands, Australian metalcore group The Amity Affliction, performed next. They played a mix of all their material released since 2012's Chasing Ghosts through last year's EP Somewhere Beyond the Blue, while inviting crowd participation during many of their songs.

Finally Silverstein took the stage, opening their set with a track from each of their two recent albums then heading into old favorites from their 22-year career "Smile in Your Sleep" and "Smashed into Pieces." The band sounded as good as ever, with vocalist Shane Told perfectly alternating between clean and unclean vocals. UnityTX vocalist Shaolin G was featured on "Die Alone" in place of the studio recording's guest spot from Comeback Kid’s Andrew Neufeld.

Silverstein’s live set covered nearly all their studio albums, partially by chance - halfway through the performance, the band picked 3 songs by spinning a wheel with song names spanning their discography. At the Seattle date this ended up being tracks from Discovering the Waterfront, Arrivals & Departures, and This is How the Wind Shifts. Fans of any of Silverstein’s material would enjoy this tour, which is continuing throughout the US and Canada over the next several weeks.
