The Amity Affliction bring the heat to Boise
Australian metalcore veterans The Amity Affliction made their way to Boise, Idaho's own Knitting Factory on Friday, March 21st, bringing along with them Unwell, Many Eyes and Hail The Sun.
Opening the show with a blast of melodic energy, Unwell woke up the crowd, leaving many concertgoers with a new favorite band; Many Eyes kept this energy going with their set. California post-hardcore act Hail The Sun came on stage and immediately the audience was listening - the band’s stage presence expanded throughout the venue, and the love that fans have for this band was felt by all.
Finally, the moment everyone was waiting for: The Amity Affliction took the stage. Opening the set with their classic single “Pittsburgh,” the audience roared the lyrics back to the band. Filling in on clean vocals and bass was Jonny Reeves (Kingdom of Giants, Dark Signal) who fit perfectly with The Amity Affliction’s sound and stage presence. The band’s set was filled with a variety of songs spanning their career for fans old and new. Rounding out their set with “Give It All,” The Amity Affliction walked off, leaving anticipation for an encore; in the midst of the excitement the venue’s fire alarm went off, cutting the encore. Fans were escorted outside and waited in the rain for the possibility of being let back in for one more song. Fifteen minutes passed, and the remaining fans were let back in for the final song “Soak Me In Bleach.” The band took the stage, the crowd sang and were even joined on the floor by Amity's own Joel Birch for a moment that will be cherished by all.
The Amity Affliction’s US tour continues through March 26, ending in Chico, CA; tickets for the remaining dates can be found here.
