The Taking Shape Tour Takes Spokane

The Band Camino brought The Taking Shape Tour to Spokane, Washington this past Tuesday evening. Knox opened for them, bringing a fun and lighthearted energy to the stage. He performed his Tiktok hit “Sneakers,” as well as his first song that has recently made its way to the radio, “Not The 1975.” As he sang and bounced around the stage, you could tell those who hadn’t listened to Knox previously were quickly becoming fans. Knox always garners positive attention from the crowd, and he is well on his way to continuing to grow in popularity as an artist, especially since opening for The Band Camino.

Soon after Knox’s set finished, the lights dimmed, and The Band Camino took the stage. Strobe lights erupted into the crowd, and screams of excitement filled the air. There truly wasn’t one dull moment throughout the entire set. They played old favorites such as “Roses” and “I Told You So” (which included someone from the audience playing cowbell), and some new songs, such as “Bruises” which is one of their most recent singles. Even though the song is only a few months old, the crowd sang their hearts out along with them. The middle of their set was stripped down, featuring just an acoustic guitar,  piano, and the beautiful harmonies of the lead singers voices. They took requests from the crowd at this point too, and managed to play each song beautifully despite not practicing beforehand. After a few requests were played, the rest of the band rejoined them on stage, and they launched back into their vibrant set. Whether you were an old fan or a new one, there was something for everyone.

At the end of the show there was a three-song encore (including the song “I Think I Like You") which managed to get the whole crowd jumping and head banging. The air was humid, sweat was coating our faces, but you couldn't help but raise your hands in the air and shout every word as the show neared its final moments. As the show came to a close, the members lined up for a final bow, soaking in the moment. Everyone in the room cheered, and the band looked out into the venue, smiling and taking in the moment. The Band Camino will continue their tour through the beginning of August, so be sure to check them out in a city near you.
