Mom Jeans. make their way to Seattle to give the PNW a glimpse of Sad Summer Festival.

After the news of Vans Warped Tour coming to an end last year many fans were left wondering if anything would ever take its place. This summer a band that has performed on the Vans Warped Tour countless times over the festivals 25 years gave fans something to look forward to, Sad Summer Festival. The band who decided to create this festival was The Maine, who were successful at creating 8123 Festival in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour went through 17 different cities in North America and the lineup consisted of State Champs, Mayday Parade, The Maine, The Wonder Years, Mom Jeans, Stand Atlantic, and Just Friends with special performances from a bunch of bands in select cities.

Unfortunately the festival didn’t have any Pacific Northwest tour dates, but fans were in for a treat when State Champs, Mayday Parade, Mom Jeans., and Just Friends announced 4 off day shows on the west coast during their week long break from Sad Summer.

We were able to catch one of the four shows in Seattle, WA. Check out the photo gallery down below to see photos of Mom Jeans., State Champs, & Mayday Parade. Enthusiastic fans packed the venue early on to catch stunning performances from Just Friends & Mom Jeans. who both typically perform at much smaller venues. To my surprise the crowd seemed equally excited for the openers as much as they were for headliners which is something I don’t see very often, it was most noticeable when Mom Jeans. performed Death Cup and everyone was singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs. State Champs and Mayday Parade co headlined the show with hour long sets which were phenomenal nonetheless as to be expected.

I think it’s safe to say that if you were at one these 4 shows or Sad Summer Festival you more than likely left with a raspy voice from singing all night long, the same goes for anyone lucky enough to attend Sad Summer. It’s amazing to think this show was just a small glimpse of what Sad Summer Festival was like and we look forward to seeing it hopefully continue on as an annual festival and adds more locations. Overall, this was one of the best shows of the summer and we recommend keeping a close eye on what these bands are up to for the rest of 2019. Just Friends and Mom Jeans. both just announced tours so check out and see if they are coming to a city near you!
