Chart topping Stranger Things actor and musician Djo sells out Seattle’s biggest music theatre.

The 32-year-old multi-talented musician and actor Joe Keery packed one of Seattle’s most iconic venues, Paramount Theatre, on a Tuesday night performing to a sold out crowd of roughly 2,900 passionate fans; many of whom waited hours in the rain to secure a good spot in the crowd. If you’re not familiar with Keery’s filmography, he’s most known for his role as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things.  Opening up the show was Chicago band Post Animal, a band Keery was apart of up until 2019.

Keery has been releasing music under the stage name Djo (pronounced Joe) since 2019 and has independently released three full length albums. His third and latest album, The Crux, was just freshly released last week on April 4th, with 12 songs in total. Djo and his live band which consisted of members from Post Animal powered through 17 songs in total including a two song encore. In between songs the crowd and Keery would interact with one another with short barks which is a silly way younger audiences have been cheering on artists with lately.

The setlist for the night consisted of 17 songs performed in 75 minutes and loads of barking from both the crowd and the band. Tunes from The Crux such as “Basic Being Basic” and “Charlie’s Garden” had fans all the way up in the balcony standing up on their feet jamming along to the indie rock songs. The energy in the room intensified as Djo performed his viral song “End of Beginning” from his second studio album Decide which has been streamed on Spotify over 1 billion times. After a two-song encore, fans could be seen leaving the venue with smiles on their faces; some fans were even fortunate enough to meet Keery outside the venue.

Djo is bring the “The Back on You world tour” to tons of North American cities and then heading overseas to Europe until late June. The tour dates on this tour are quickly selling out and for good reason!
