Versus by Emarosa

Post hardcore act Emarosa recently released their fourth album, and let's just say, the road hasn't been so easy.

When rumors started back in 2011 about the band's former lead singer, Jonny Craig, about his worsening addiction, the band was forced to kick Jonny out. That was for the best, but the band had a hard time finding a replacement. After countless auditions, they stumbled upon Bradley Walden. He fit the part, but he was already in a band and he was fully  committed. It wasn't until last year that he took the offer.

Emarosa released their first album back in 2007, the band hasn't had it easy, but that wasn't going to stop them. It's no secret that everyone was anxious to hear their latest installment.

Versus was a new chapter for the band. The album started with a more a soulful sound but it still had the hardcore elements. 'I'll Just Wait' has a more softer, soulful element while 'Say Hello To The Bad Guy' was both soulful and hardcore. It's easy to see that this seems to be the pattern for the whole album.

When compared to previous Emarosa albums, it's not the best. With that said, this album is very well written and is something that deserves to be heard. It holds elements that won't soon be forgotten. As for the band itself, it seems like they are headed in the right direction and they too won't soon be forgotten.
