I Don't Know What To Do Now by Vagabonds

Vagabonds is an alternative artist from Michigan. His most recent album, titled "I Don't Know What To Do Now," came out on June 30th, 2017. To say the least, this album is definitely emotional and there are many examples of that throughout these ten songs, from the introductory track "A Memory" to the final track, "Teeth," which I'll talk a bit more about in a moment. Luke Dean shows this emotion in his vocal performances, especially in songs like "Nineveh" and "(Un)Settling." Lyrically, the album covers a variety of very specific topics and situations, from wanting to be a better version of yourself in "Deja Vu (I Am Still Afraid)" to questioning possible "flaws" and feeling insecure in "Nails,"

wondering when and how things will change and get better in "Thanks Anyways" to not opening up to people about how you feel in "Paralysis" and trying to convince someone they're worth it and that they're loved in "Old Friends, Wherever You Are," two songs that I feel are some of the most emotional ones on here. The instrumentation on here is something that stood out to me, from the orchestral elements in "A Self Fulfilling Prophecy" to the guitar in "Deja Vu (I Am Still Afraid)" and "Nineveh" to the piano in "(Un)Settling." "Teeth," has an spoken word section, which is something we don't hear on any of the other tracks on this album, and one part of what makes it as good of a song and as good of an album closer as it is. This album is full of emotion and honesty, from the descriptive lyrics that don't leave out a single detail to the vocal performances that capture the emotion written out in the lyrics, to the instrumentals that just fit well with the other parts of the songs.
