AMITY: How are you?
Anna: I'm really well at the moment. This years been great so far ☺️
AMITY: With 21k+ followers on Instagram, when did you realize that you were getting “Instagram Famous?”
Anna: Personally, I don't consider myself "instagram famous" at all, although everyone always says that to me haha. But I guess it all happened around the beginning of last year and my follower count just continues to grow daily. It's really nice because I meet so many lovely people ☺️
AMITY: What’s it like to have people say they look up to you?
Anna: Sometimes it gives me anxiety because I always want to make sure I'm setting a good example and being the best me I can be but at the end of the day, I always have a huge smile on my face because of it. My followers are all so wonderful and sweet and give me so much support and I, in return, want to be someone my followers can look up to and not be afraid to ask me for help or advice or anything. I love knowing that my positivity can help others.
AMITY: You portray such a positive attitude on your posts. How do you maintain a positive outlook when there is so much negativity throughout social media?
Anna: To be honest, I just laugh at the negativity because it's strangers who form an opinion of me from the way I look and what I choose to post on Instagram.I remind myself that these strangers do not know me personally and are just cowards hiding behind a screen. I also remind myself that if I saw these people out somewhere, they would be too scared to approach me in person. I honestly feel bad for the people who leave hate comments. It's silly, don't you have anything better to do? I always either delete the comment and go about my day or respond with kindness because you never know what that person is going through that makes them lash out like that. I'm not capable of being rude or nasty to anyone, even if they are rude or nasty to me first. It's literally impossible haha
AMITY: You have an Etsy shop, what made you want to sell your jewelry?
Anna: I've had my Etsy shop for a few years now but recently I've been given the opportunity to be more creative and get my hands on tools and materials I needed to really make my designs a reality. My passion for jewelry started when I was younger. My aunt was really into jewelry and took me to bead/jewelry expos and after she died she left all of her jewelry making tools/materials to me. I also took an art class in high school where I learned to make rings and pendants and other fun things out of metal. Ever since then, I've just been so in love with jewelry.
AMITY: What’s your favorite piece that you’ve ever made?
Anna: It's hard to choose a favorite haha. I love everything I make but my favorite designs are ones I haven't actually made yet. I have a whole line of jewelry influenced by another one of my biggest passions, greek mythology. The designs are so beautiful and I can't wait to make them!
AMITY: What inspires you to make your jewelry?
Anna: Everything really. It's hard to answer this because I get inspired out of no where a lot of the time and once I start making jewelry or thinking of designs, I can't stop. I can sit in a craft store for hours and think up 20 different things I want to make just by being in that atmosphere.
AMITY: You went on Warped Tour 2014 for a little bit, how was it?
Anna: It was interesting hahaha. Being a girl on Warped Tour is a little bit harder but it's worth it for the experience and memories. Warped Tour was like a nonstop party with all your friends. It's a lot of fun.
AMITY: Would you do it again?
Anna: Absolutely! I'll be at Warped Tour again this year. I'll have a day where I'm helping at the Vans tent and a few days where I will probably be helping out at a friends jewelry tent. But most of the time I'll be hanging out with my friend and her friends in one of the bands.
AMITY: Final words?
Anna: Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to do this interview! I love doing things like this, it's so much fun! And I also just want to say that I know the Internet can be a tough place and there's a lot of hate but try not to ever fight hate with hate. It just fuels the fire and more hate is spread. Remind yourself that these people do not know you or your story and that their hateful words can be deleted and their opinions do not matter. You define who you are, not strangers on social media who don't know you. Never be afraid to be yourself, when you are yourself 100%, you will be happier and live a more positive life. Being yourself will attract true friends who love you for you. Focus on positive things and rid yourself of negative people. My favorite things to do when I feel negativity creeping in is make a list of my favorite memories or people or things and I read that list every time I need a boost of happiness and positivity. I also meditate with crystals but always try to do something like exercise or do yoga or something that can let out all your frustration and negativity. Everyone is beautiful no matter what shape or size or color or sexuality they are. You are beautiful and unique and you are enough. And thank you again for allowing me to do this interview with you. I hope this helps people to learn more about me and I hope this helps people who are dealing with any hate or negativity on social media. ❤
