Virtual Self's Utopia Tour - Seattle, WA

Thousands of eager fans lined up last month to catch Porter Robinson’s latest musical endeavor, Virtual Self perform live at Wamu Theater in Seattle, WA. With singles like Ghost Voices having just under 8 million streams and on Spotify, it’s easy to figure out why.

After the two opening DJ’s Eprom and Ratio warmed up the crowd it was time for Virtual Self to come on stage, as the lights began to dim the excitement in the room skyrocketed. The set began with lights beaming vertically from the bottom of the stage and a loud roar of enthusiasm let out from the crowd. The production throughout the night was spot on with the music something you could tell Porter Robinson worked on perfecting, he even took a moment to watch the visuals on the screen behind him during his song Particle Arts. The set was lengthy and after two hours everyone left feeling like they were various games such as Final Fantasy, and Dance Dance Revolution.

Only a few months ago, Virtual Self performed at one of Washington State’s most popular summer music festivals, Paradiso. Fans who attended both the festival and this show were in for a treat as he performed a two hour long set this time that was slightly different from the festivals set. As this was the first time he was performing in Seattle, which is a couple hours out from The Gorge Amphitheater where the annual festival is held it actually felt like this was most of the crowd’s first time experiencing Virtual Self. Nevertheless, everyone in the room seemed to be enjoying the new sound in spite of the fact that it sounds nothing at all like his past few projects such as his album Worlds or hit single Shelter.

Needless to say, Virtual Self can put on one heck of a show and it’s something the check out.
