Dreamers provide support for You Me At Six in Seattle, WA

On March 6th British rock band You Me At Six came across the Atlantic to rock a crowd at Seattle’s own Chop Suey with support from Dreamers and machineheart. This being their first North American tour in quite some time, fans were very excited to see the band.

First up that night were LA based synth pop band machineheart who performed a set of 7 songs from their debut release, People Change. The four piece group consists of vocalist Stevie Scott, guitarist Carman Kubanda, bassist/keyboardist Jake Randle, and drummer Harrison Allen. They kicked off the show by getting the crowd warmed up and definitely gained themselves some fans towards the end of their set. Performing a mix of alternative synth pop-rock, Scott made sure to engage the crowd with her stunning vocal performance.

Next up was LA based Dreamers, who’s singer/guitarist Nick Wold, was born and raised in Seattle, which he acknowledged to the crowd. The band performed a very energetic set, with a setlist of 7 songs most of which come from the band's debut album “This Album Does Not Exist,” as well as their latest single Die Happy with many fans singing back to them. Wold gave a great vocal performance and was dancing all over the stage even getting on his knees a couple times for some guitar solo. Bassists Nelson was engaging with the crowd very often and drummer Jacob Lee Wick gave a energetic performance throughout the night. When the band performed Painkiller, Wold, showed that they could get a crowd warmed up by taking of his guitar, and going crazy on the strings before leading the crowd to jump with him. The final song of the night was the bands hit “Sweet Disaster”, which many of the bands fans, who he called Dreamers, sang along to. In a couple words a Dreamers set could be described as fun, energetic and definitely deserving of an encore. If this band comes to your area absolutely check them out as you won’t be disappointed, and be sure to look out their sophomore album due out later this year.

As the band of the night was due on stage the crowd was waiting in anticipation. You Me At Six, who have always had a huge following due to hits like Bite My Tongue (featuring Bring Me The Horizon’s Oliver Sykes), Night People, Take On The World, and Underdog, have for the past few years not really done a full north american tour focusing mostly on their UK tours, and festival appearances in most parts of the world. The band are currently touring on their rightfully titled 6th album “VI” performing on this stop of the tour 18 songs to a crowd that immediately went nuts as the band hit the stage with their first song of the night Fast Forward from their new album being welcomed by the audience. Even with a small stage, vocalist Josh Franceschi, rhythm guitarist, Max Heyler, and bassist Matt Barnes didn’t let that stop them from jumping around all over the stage and going absolutely nuts which the crowd reciprocated back at them. When the band performed Take On The World, they asked the crowd to turn on the flashlights on their phones and dedicated the song to anyone who might be having a hard time. After a couple songs the band finished off their set with Bite My Tongue before briefly heading backstage while the crowd demanded an encore. The band conceded and performed 4 more songs before they ended the night with the final song of the night being their classic song Underdog which the crowd sang back to them to the last note.

With a new album under their belt and a return to touring North America, fans are hoping the You Me At Six returns sooner than later. If you have the opportunity to see any of these bands live in the near future don’t deny yourself the opportunity, these bands have a high energy that will infect you and leave you with a great experience.
