Reptaliens invade Seattle!

Portland synth pop rock band, Reptaliens invaded Seattle’s The Showbox while on support for Turnstile and Turnover’s co-headlining show on Saturday April 27th. I managed to meet up with them before the show to get to know them and interview them where we talked music, conspiracy theories, aliens and their latest album, Vials which was released the day prior to show. The band consists of husband and wife duo Bambi and Cole Browning.

If I had to describe their performance in one word it would be: weird. But not in a bad way it was a good kind of weird, the band plays funky music with the help of a touring drummer and guitarist while Bambi is on the bass and Cole is on keyboard. Their performance was about 30 mins and in that short time they played a lot of songs off of their new album with a mix of songs off of their debut, with Reptaliens no performance is complete without some theatrics. When the band first comes on stage they start off the night with an intro by one of their touring members dressed as an alien, before proceeding to their first song of the night. Afterwards they play through most of their set with the help of a couple more friends dressed as aliens, masked strangers, scientist and lastly giant reptiles.

There’s no shortage of surprise when it comes to their set you never know what wacky character the band is going to bring out next to accompany their performance and it makes it more fun to watch, you can hear the passion in Bambi’s voice when she sings the songs she wrote and the way she moves around on stage with so much energy shows that they are just getting started in their career.

Check out Reptaliens latest release Valis on all streaming platforms and catch them on tour with Turnstile and Turnover throughout the rest of May.
