Young The Giant Return To Marymoor Park After 4 Years For Sold Out Show

Alternative rockers, Young The Giant were met with joyful fans this past Friday night happy to see the group’s return back to the Pacific Northwest after an extensive 4 year gap in touring. Fans eagerly packed into Marymoor Park early to catch incredible performances from openers Rosa Linn, and Milky Chance.

The California quintet took the stage right began to dim into the night, starting the night off with their soulful title track of their latest studio album American Bollywood. This album is a collection of 4 extended plays the band released as 4 acts - Origins, Exile, Battle, and Denouement each act showcasing four songs. This theme was kept for the live shows with a short movie being played before each act. The concert wasn’t a full play through of their latest album, well loved songs like “Cough Syrup,” “Mind Over Matter,” and “Heat Of The Summer.” were spread out through out the acts. The sea of 5000+ fans mirrored most of the bands 18 song setlist, some of them dancing along while others took in the moment while laying down on their blankets with their families.

A huge disco ball lowered from the stage’s ceiling as the band went into a finale of songs. As the ball brightly shined across the venue grounds and stage, Vocalist Sameer Ghadia ramped up his shimmying while crowds sang along loudly to not one but three upbeat songs “Superposition,” “Silvertongue,” and ending the music filled night on a high note with “My Body.”

Young The Giant are one of those band’s you’ll see live once and want to keep returning to their shows, and it’s no doubt concert goer’s left hopeful that they’ll see the band again soon. As of right now the band is just finishing up their North American tour and will be heading to Europe this fall.
