L.S. Dunes' first tour comes to Seattle
If you like punk bands with with a fast tempo and heavy riffs, you need to check out L.S. Dunes, an emo super group made up of Anthony Green from Circa Survive, Frank Iero from My Chemical Romance, Travis Stever from Coheed and Cambria, and Tim Payne & Tucker Rule from Thursday. The band formed and debuted their first show together in September of 2022 at Riot Fest then quickly released their first album Past Lives the following month.
Now less than a year after their first show ever the band is doing summer tour that is going to 17 North American cities in support of the new album. The band recently performed at Seattle’s historic The Showbox on August 2nd along with openers Pinkshift.
Right off the bat, L.S. Dunes opened up with “Bombsquad,” vocalist Anthony Green jumped down from the stage and onto the barricade for the entirety of the song interacting with fans which really raised the energy of the crowd in the room as if it wasn’t already high enough. Fans kept the energy high through out the rest of the band’s 11 song setlist with non stop moshing and crowd surfing. The crowd was noticeably louder during crowd favorite songs “Like Forever,” “Grey Veins,” and “Permanent Rebellion.”
The atmosphere in the venue was idyllic as the band performed their final song the night “Sleep Cult.” Special shout out to the disco ball in the middle of The Showbox that was shining brighter than ever during the rock ballad. The band put on one heck of a performance in Seattle that will surely be remembered by many.
