ERRA brings the heat to Seattle, WA

ERRA - July 31st, 2022 - El Corazon, Seattle, WA

Alabama-based progressive metalcore band ERRA recently brought their first headlining tour to Seattle, along with supporting bands Alpha Wolf as well as UNFD labelmates Thornhill and Invent Animate.

Even during an intense heat wave in Seattle, fans packed the non-air conditioned venue early for openers Invent Animate, who kicked off the sold out show by performing tracks from their latest full length Greyview as well as their recent EP and new single “Shade Astray.” This tour brought Thornhill back to El Corazon for the second time this year - the band gave a captivating performance of songs from their recent release Heroine, plus a few fan favorites from The Dark Pool

Alpha Wolf brought increased energy and a more aggressive sound to the show, mostly performing tracks from their latest full-length A Quiet Place to Die and a new single from their upcoming split EP with Holding Absence. Energy levels remained high as ERRA opened their set with the explosive “Gungrave,” showing off the band’s impressive technical skills (and a dynamic lighting setup) before moving on to “Sol Absentia” from their recently released self-titled deluxe album. Even hours into an uncomfortably hot show, the crowd was not slowing down, screaming lyrics back at the band as beach balls flew across the room. Venue staff were using super soakers on the crowd throughout the show to help manage the high temperatures.

ERRA’s setlist consisted of a mix of songs recorded since vocalist JT Cavey joined the band in 2016, including their latest single “Pull From The Ghost” which released just before the tour began. Filling in after longtime member Sean Price’s departure earlier this year, touring guitarist Clint Tustin seemed like a natural fit for the band.“Drift” was one of the highlights of the show, as Cavey encouraged audience participation during one of their more melodic songs. The band closed their set by playing their self-titled album’s lead single “Snowblood,” before coming back for an encore with a track from the original lineup’s 2013 album Augment. ERRA gave a seemingly flawless performance and should not be missed on future tours.
