Under Your Breath by Aiming For Average
Favorite Track: Constant Pressure
Aiming For Average are a pop punk band from Berwyn, Illinois. Their third EP, titled “Under Your Breath,” was released on February 10th, 2017.
The EP kicks off with the song “Snake Eyes.” I honestly think it's a solid pop punk track with amazing instrumentation and lyrics, and it's a good way to open this EP. The second track, “Constant Pressure,” is more fast-paced and had my attention from beginning to end with its powerful instrumentals and well-written, relatable lyrics.
The next two tracks are a bit more on the softer and slower side, the first one being “Alexander’s.” It has a bit more of a moody tone compared to the past two songs. The instrumentation is a bit softer, mainly in the beginning. but builds up a little bit towards the chorus. The second of these two more relaxed tracks is “Crooked Spine,” which is softer not only instrumentally but vocally as well for the majority of the song, which eventually leads up to an emotional final chorus.
“Not A Life Saver” picks the pace back up and continues right where “Constant Pressure” left off. It's another fast-paced pop punk song with incredible lyrics and finishes the EP out strong.
