Madness by Sleeping With Sirens

Post-hardcore rock band, Sleeping With Sirens released their fourth studio album back in March via Epitaph Records and it's easy to say that the mass majority of fans (and newcomers alike) are loving it.

The band paired with John Feldmann (who has worked with bands like 5 Seconds of Summer, Panic! At The Disco, The Used, and more) to create a more "radio-friendly" sound but that still had the punk-rock elements.

Madness starts with Kick Me and Go Go Go, two undeniably, quote-on-quote "heavy" songs that hold a lot of the same elements found in previous albums. With their annoyingly catchy choruses that are hard to forget (believe me, I know). From "She says go, go, go; I don't wanna take it slow" to "Keep looking down on me, I'm more than you'll ever be."

The album also features a softer side to the band, with songs like The Strays, Heroin, November, and Madness.

It's easy to say that this album is diverse; punk-rock diverse. Songs like Gold, Save Me A Spark, Fly, and Left Alone, show the more "radio friendly" music that Feldmann is know for.

Don't get me wrong, the band hasn't lost their post-hardcore song completely. There are a few strays that keep the album a rock album, like We Like It Loud which was one of the last singles released before the album. It shows the bands "heavier" side.

There is also one song that also doesn't fit the "radio friendly" vibe called Better Off Dead which tells the story of a suicidal teenage girl who wonders if she's better off dead (no pun intended) while putting across a powerful message about suicide prevention.

The album ends with Don't Say Anything, a beautifully songs, both lyrically and musically.

With every old fan that walks away, a handful of new ones emerge. Needless to say, it's time to embrace the Madness.
