We Came As Romans headline sold out Darkbloom Tour in Seattle
Darkbloom Tour - February 8, 2023 - The Crocodile, Seattle, WA
Just a few months after releasing their latest album Darkbloom, We Came As Romans stopped at The Crocodile in Seattle halfway through their sold out headlining tour.
Canadian deathcore band Brand of Sacrifice kicked off the show with an intense performance, energizing the crowd with the heaviest music of the night. They played a mix of new and old material, including their latest single at the time, "Exodus."
ERRA performed next, playing their latest single "Pull from the Ghost" as well as favorites from their 2021 self-titled release and its deluxe edition. The band gave an excellent performance and had the crowd singing along with "Vanish Canvas" and "Divisionary."
We Came As Romans finally took the stage, immediately starting their set with one of the heaviest tracks from Darkbloom before going on to play a mix of material dating back to 2013's Tracing Back Roots.
As part of an interactive element at the show, the band provided an online platform to vote for one of two songs to be performed during the set. The Seattle crowd chose "Fade Away" over "Ghosts," and the audience and band alike had a great time with the song. Lead vocalist Dave Stephens perfectly handled the mix of clean and unclean vocals throughout the show, and gave an impactful and emotional performance of "One More Day" as a tribute to late vocalist Kyle Pavone, with video clips of Kyle displayed behind the band as they performed.
Shortly after ending the main set with "Darkbloom," Stephens returned for an encore with Brand of Sacrifice, performing their reimagined version of the same song to great reception from the crowd. One of the highlights of this show was the collaboration between each band in the touring package (including “Doublespeak” featuring JT Cavey of ERRA), and is something that most tours would benefit from. Ending with "Black Hole," We Came As Romans had the crowd moving more than ever while winning over some new fans.
