Noah Kahan stuns sold out Marymoor Park concert in the Pacific Northwest

26 year old musician Noah Kahan has gained a huge following since the release of his latest album Stick Season which was evident at his concert this past Tuesday at Marymoor Amphitheater in Redmond, WA.

Over 5000 enthusiastic concert goer’s of all ages packed into the open-air concert grounds, some fans even lined up at 2am and waited 16 hours on one of the hottest days of the summer in Washington. In contrast, hundreds of fans who were unsuccessful in getting tickets enjoyed listening to the show from the outside of the venue. Every show on the 2023 Stick Season Tour is completely sold out aside from the festival shows and is Kahan’s longest tours of his career to date — North American tour began in May and will continue on til October, then shortly after Kahan will head overseas to Europe and the United Kingdom in November.

Fans who made it through the long lines early enough to catch opener Joy Oladokun enjoyed the musician’s set despite it being during the hottest point of the evening. Okladokun performed a mix of songs from their own releases such as “We’re All Going to Die” then also performed a couple of covers of songs like “As It Was” by Harry Styles and “Rocketman” by Elton John which got the crowd animated and singing along.

Right as the sun began to set Noah Kahan took the stage as fans and the crowd went into a frenzy as the singer-songwriter began playing “All My Love” off of his third studio album Stick Season. Fans passionately sang along for the rest of the Vermont native’s performance. A gamut of emotions could be spotted through out the night, one of the most noticeable being when fans broke into tears as they sang along to “Call Your Mom” a song Kahan mentioned he was reluctant to perform at the beginning of the tour due to how sad it was, but came to realize that many fans have a deep connection with the song — which heavily touches on the topic of depression/ suicide. As the show progressed through 19 songs, Kahan would periodically lighten up the mood of the crowds with his backstories of songs. During one point in the set the singer grabbed sunflowers from fans hoping he could wear them so he could be like Post Malone — an artist Kahan recently collaborated with on a re-release of “Dial Drunk”.

The night came to an end with not one but two encores after the crowd wouldn’t stop cheering, the first encore including crowd favorite songs like “Mess”— which was chosen by the crowd and “Stick Season,” the latter encore Kahan returned to the stage completely solo in a manor that seemed spontaneous after the crowd demanded yet another encore - this time Kahan performing “Paul Revere”.

Kahan and his live band’s performance as well as the atmosphere of the crowds at The Stick Season tour made for an unforgettable concert. It’ll be interesting to see what Kahan will do after this tour is over, “Will he announce more legs of Stick Season tour?” is what many fans are asking after how in demand tickets have been for this tour.
