Carolina Rebellion 2016

Friday, May 6

The day started with Oklahoma natives Aranda on the Rebellion stage, The Glorious Sons on the Black stage, Stitched Up Heart on the Gold stage, and Sick Puppies on the Carolina stage. The stages were all filled with some of the best bands and artists in the rock scene today including Lacey Sturm, New Year's Day, Pop Evil, Escape The Fate, Sixx: A.M., and Scorpions. All the bands had fans singing along and wanting more.

Saturday, May 7

Saturday was a whirlwind. With bands like Five Finger Death Punch, A Day To Remember, and Shinedown playing later in the day, you could tell people were excited for the day. Everything started over on the Black and Gold stages with Monster Truck and Cane Hill before everyone made their way over to the Rebellion stage for Red Sun Rising and over to the Carolina stage for Saint Asonia. The day went on with bands like Parkway Drive and Ghost on the Black stage while Anthrax and Sevendust ruled the main stages. The crowds formed around the main stages as the night started to roll around and everyone rocked out with the headliners before heading their separate ways.

Sunday, May 8

Sunday was like they went through my music library and got those bands to perform - with the day starting with '68 on the Gold stage and Hands Like Houses hit the Rebellion stage, you'd think I chose these. The day also held bands like Yelawolf and and Cypress Hill (who were definitely a fan favorite) while Enter Shikari held down the Black stage. There was something in the air from the moment you stepped into the festival site - a name that you couldn't help seeing, hearing, or even saying. With this being their first festival performance in the US, everyone was anxious and excited to see one of the most talked about bands in the music industry. BABYMETAL had people wondering what the hell was happening while they danced and sang the lyrics to their most popular songs. Keep in mind that they sing in Japanese and this music festival in in North Carolina - imagine a whole bunch of country sounding guys attempting to sing in Japanese. You had to be there. The night starting rolling around and they saved some of the best for last. Bring Me The Horizon showed Carolina Rebellion what a real circle pit looks like while having 100 kids crowd surfing to high five frontman Oli Sykes while Rob Zombie had everyone singing songs from his new album The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser and Disturbed ended the festival with their song Down With The Sickness

I said it last year and I'll say it again, Carolina Rebellion is worth all the heat, money, and dust and is a must go to festival. If you get the chance to go next year, please do! You won't be disappointed.

We hope to see you again next year. To stay up to date on all the Carolina Rebellion news, follow all their social media accounts that can be found on their website, carolinarebellion.com.

Until next time, keep rocking. \m/
