Being As An Ocean with '68, Capsize, and more!
Downcast started the night with a few songs from their EP Linger while putting on a great show for those who decided to come early. These guys definitely have a future ahead of them and we can't wait to see what they do in the future.
Orange County natives Movements started their set with Hatchet, the fourth song on their debut EP Outgrown Things (via Fearless Records) before jumping into Buried, a definite fan favorite. The setlist also included Worst Wishes, Protection, Nineteen, and Kept. Despite a few technical difficulties here and there, the band kept the crowd involved and had everyone wanting more. If you haven't heard of this band, definitely check them out. The band will be on Pierce The Veil's Misadventures tour - if it's coming to a town near you, I'd highly suggest going. You won't regret it.
Listener jumped into their set with Good News First and Eyes to the Ground for Change, both songs off their 2013 album Time Is A Machine before they played two songs that I didn't catch the name of, sorry about that. They played Tornadoes before ending with Falling in Love with Glaciers. These guys have so much energy and had the crowd singing along. It was something to see. If you enjoy some border line spoken word songs, you should check them out.
Capsize is definitely the heaviest band on this tour, but they still fit right in. They played a mixture of songs from their 2014 album The Angst In My Veins and also played two of their newer songs. Despite half of the band being sick, they still gave their heart and soul. If you haven't heard these guys or seen them live, give them a try. They are something to hear and to see.
Hometown band '68 started their set with a bang, as always. They played a mixture of songs from 2014 In Humor And Sadness including Track 3, Track 8, and Track 1. The crowd went wild for these guys, even stealing the mic and bringing it into the crowd so everyone could sing along. Everyone was excited to have the boys back home. Definitely check these guys out and catch them on tour with Bring Me The Horizon starting in May.
By now, the crowd was ready for the band most of them came to see. Being As An Ocean started their set with Little Richie off their 2015 self-titled album before playing The Hardest Part Is Forgetting Those You Swore You'd Never Forget off of 2012's Dear G-d. Joel had already made his way into the crowd and had the crowd screaming along with him. If you haven't witnessed this happened, you need to. The band also played their latest single Dissolve along with throwing in a mixture of old a new with Sleeping Sicarii, Death's Black Wing Scrapes The Air, L'exquisite Douleur, and This Loneliness Won't Be The Death Of Me. The band said their goodbye's but of course the crowd wanted more. They came out and played Nothing, Save the Power Their Given before saying their final goodbye and everyone headed on their way.
Every band on this tour has something unique to offer and each band has great messages. If you haven't seen these bands live, I highly suggest you do. Be sure to listen to all the bands at least once - you may find your new favorite band.
